Meek Mill Announces He Is Suing The Cosmopolitan Hotel

Unfortunately, we are still living in a day and age at which many businesses find it perfectly fine to hire black entertainers to bring in the money but treating them unfairly otherwise. Meek Mill feels that he was recently discriminated against at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas and he won’t take it sitting down.

In a video posted by the rapper, Meek is seen speaking with security at a pool party that was happening at the iconic resort. The man in a suit tells Mill that not only is he not allowed to attend the event, but if he is even caught on the premises he will be arrested at once.

The musician immediately took to social media to release the video and explain his side of the story. After the clip went viral, sources at the Cosmo claim that he wasn’t denied entry due to his race but it was because the area was already to capacity.

They also insisted that Meeks handlers had already been told that if he was to show up he would be turned away. However, the excuse doesn’t explain why Meek’s freedom was threatened when it was quite clear that he wasn’t being aggressive in the recording.

In addition to this being one of many where black entertainers are treated less than, there is a rumored ‘list’ that allegedly circulates that has instructions not to let certain celebrities in at some of the most elite establishments that are biased against people like Meek.

Meeks lawyer, Joe Tacopina will aid the rapper in suing the hotel for discrimination. According to TMZ, Joe claims: ‘I’m going to take this place down because of what they did.’

The attorney released his own statement that brought up the points mentioned earlier.

‘The assertion that the Cosmopolitan denied Meek because of capacity concerns at Marquee Dayclub is outright false. In the recorded video, Meek also inquired about getting a meal at one of the hotel’s restaurants, yet their security team continued to deny Meek and said he would be arrested for trespassing regardless of location in the premises. The Cosmopolitan’s conduct continues to be deplorable.’
