Freema Agyeman is a British actress. She is known for her roles on the series Doctor Who and Torchwood, as the doctor’s companion Martha Jones, as well as Mile High, Little Dorrit, Bizarre ER, Law & Order: UK, The Carrie Diaries, Sense8, New Amsterdam, and Dreamland, and in the films North v South, Eat Locals, and The Matrix Resurrections.

She is the daughter of Azar (Azizian-Kohan) and Osei Agyeman. Her father is from Ghana, in Africa, and was raised Methodist. Her mother is Iranian, and was raised Muslim. A picture of Freema with her mother can be seen here.
